1About these terms

These terms cover your use of the Halal Food Guy Map at halalfoodmap.app and map.halalfoodguy.co.uk, run by Halal Food Guy (“I”, “me”). By using the map you agree to them. If you buy Pro or write a community review, the sections about those apply too.

2My reviews and scores are opinions

Every score and review is my personal, honest opinion of my own visit, on that day. Restaurants change owners, chefs, menus, prices, opening hours and halal status, and some scores are several years old (the year of my visit is shown with each review). Some meals were invited or gifted; that never changes the score, and the review says so.

Halal status: I show what I understood the halal status to be when I visited or checked. I am not a halal certification body. Always confirm with the restaurant before you eat, especially about meat, alcohol and shared kitchens.

3Using the map

The map is free for personal use. All reviews, scores, photos, descriptions and restaurant data are © Halal Food Guy. You may share links to the map and talk about what it says, but you may not copy, scrape, download in bulk, store in another database or app, or republish them, in whole or in part, without my written permission. That includes using them to train or feed AI tools. Automated access is limited and may be blocked.

4Pro

• What you get: Pro unlocks the extra places on my Google Maps halal list, category sorting, visit counts and the ability to write community reviews. What Pro includes may grow or change over time; I won’t take away its main purpose, the full halal list.
• Price: a one-off payment shown at checkout, not a subscription. Payment is taken by Payhip.
• Your licence: one licence key for one person, usable on up to two devices at a time. A device that has not been used for 14 days frees its place for a new one. Please don’t share or resell your key; keys that are shared or resold can be switched off.
• Refunds: Pro is digital content that unlocks straight away. By buying it you ask for immediate access and accept that you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once it is unlocked. If Pro doesn’t work for you and I can’t fix it, I will refund you. This does not affect your statutory rights. A refunded licence stops working.

5Community reviews and ratings

Community reviews, ratings and votes are written by visitors, not by me. They appear only on the Community page, are clearly marked as user generated, and never change my own scores. When you write one, you agree that:

• it is your own honest experience of a real visit;
• it contains no abuse, hate, threats, personal information about anyone, links, adverts or spam;
• you are not the owner or staff of the restaurant, or writing for them or a competitor;
• you give me permission to show it on the map, to shorten or remove it, and to use it on the map in future.

I may hide or delete any community review or rating, at any time, without notice. Reviews that are reported by several people are hidden automatically until I check them. To report a problem, use the Report link or email me.

6Liability

I work hard to keep the map accurate, but it is provided as it is, and I can’t promise it is always complete, up to date or available. I am not responsible for the food, service, prices or halal status of any restaurant, or for any loss from relying on the map, except where the law does not allow this to be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.

7Changes and the law

I may update these terms; the date at the top will change. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
